Orono Fastpitch Softball Association

Congratulations to the Orono 12U Blue team for winning the silver bracket at the Fall State Tournament!

Softball pictures for all Travel and K-3 Travel Lite teams will be taken from 10:00-11:45 at Orono High School. In order to have complete team pictures, all players are expected to attend.

Pictures will be taken by Sunshine Photography, in conjunction with Orono Baseball.  Travel Team members should wear their uniforms.  K-3 Travel Lite players should wear dark shorts and white t-shirts and jerseys will be provided on picture day.

Players should be assembled and ready 15 minutes in advance of their team picture time. 

Save the date!  OSA will be holding the annual Wine Pull on Friday, June 3, 2011.  The event will take place at Burl Oaks Country Club. 

We are looking for volunteers to help with this event. Hours will count toward parent volunteer time.  If you are able to help, please contact Jon Arends.

All families will be asked to sell tickets for the event and each team will be asked to contribute a "basket" to the silent auction.

Congratulations to Julia Brauchlee, recipient of the 2010 OSA Scholarship.    We wish Julia well in all her adventures after high school.  We're proud of how she has represented Orono softball!

The OSA Board would like to thank Jon Arends for his committment to Orono Softball.  After serving for 6 years, Jon is stepping down from his board position.  Jon served as OSA President for  two years and Fundraising Coordinator for four. During that time, Jon also coached numerous teams, including one State Championship team (see below). Jon will continue to be involved in coaching his daughter's team. Thanks, Jon, for all you've done and for all you'll continue to do!
