14U+ Overview

Mission

  • To provide a competitive community softball program for OSA families. This blends the desire for increased focus on skill development while still playing within the community & friends.

Team Formation

  • Tryouts held in July/Early August. 12 Players maximum and will play together in Fall, Winter, & Summer

Coaching

  • Combination of volunteer led (parents) and rising young leaders (former Orono grads and/or college players)

Fall Program

  • Play in the Big West League Mid August thru September
  • 2 Practice days per week & Weekend Games
  • State Tournament
  • Potential for 1-2 more Fall Tournaments

Winter Program

  • Potential Dome Ball League and/or Tournaments - TBD based on team availability/interest
  • Optional Winter Training Organized by OSA; ex. Hit Dawg, TC Fastpitch, College Clinics

Summer Program

  • Play in the Big West League
  • Practice and games start after the HS season is over (usually mid May) and run thru July
  • Game Nights are Tuesday/Thursday; Potential practices on other week days/weekend
  • 3-5 Invitational Tournaments, State Qualifier, State, Nationals if qualified
  • Optional Instructor Led Training Organized by OSA; ex. Hit Dawg, TC Fastpitch, College Clinics

Costs

  • Includes Summer, Fall, & Winter League Fees
  • Includes Tournament Fees
  • Includes Coaching & Field Expenses
  • Includes Team Equipment (not player)
  • In-season & off-season training is optional. OSA will organize skill specific training but is up to each player/family to determine how much they do. Families pay the instructors directly.
